Keeping it weird in Portland 👽

For a few years, Karli and I have wanted to take a trip to Portland.  Now that we're based in California, the trip seemed much more manageable.  So, I decided to surprise Karli with a trip to Portland for our wedding anniversary!

The trip is a quick flight from San Jose - only about an hour. As soon as we touched down early in the afternoon, we took the train into the downtown area and made our way to our hotel, Hotel Vintage.  The Hotel Vintage is a chic, wine themed hotel within walking distance of literally everything. Our room was classy yet cozy, and decorated with wine inspired art work. Our suite also featured one of the coolest spa baths we have ever seen (plus it came with a full mini bar.. SCORE!).

After we checked in, we went right to exploring. We walked all around downtown for hours and then finally decided to check out Dechutes Brewery. From there, we went to see the famous White Stag Portland Oregon sign - so cool! After Karli got in her day drinking, we started our way back to the hotel for social hour at il Solito - which is adjacent to the hotel. I'm a sucker for live music, good company, and happy hour drinks (for Karli) so it was definitely a win. Whether you're looking for a quick brunch, or an *inexpensive classic dinner, it's a spot you for sure don't want to overlook.

While we were visiting, we were also able to spend time with Instagram friends that we finally got to meet IRL, Heather & Kelsey!  One of the main reasons we were so interested in checking out the PNW was because of them. We hung out at their rad apartment, went hiking, and got introduced to their favorite(and now ours!) vegan food spots. Seeing the city from their perspective was definitely a game changer. We can't wait to hang with them again - thanks guys!

In all, we fell in love instantly with Portland and we definitely kept it weird (which is why I ended up getting a spaceship tattoo & Karli a rose).

Can't wait to go back!!

Stay Weird,

E & K
